2025 Financial Transparency Report

Brother John Street Ministry operates as an independent Christian outreach supported through voluntary gifts from friends, ministry partners, and individuals who believe in reaching people facing addiction, homelessness, and personal crisis.

This report is shared annually as a voluntary act of transparency and stewardship. Its purpose is to provide a clear overview of how ministry resources are used while maintaining responsible oversight of the work.

Every gift is handled with care and applied toward outreach work, ministry travel, and the practical needs required to sustain full-time ministry service. The ministry seeks to direct the majority of its spending toward active outreach efforts while also covering the basic living and operational costs necessary to sustain full-time ministry work.

2025 Ministry Activity

Throughout 2025, the ministry continued active outreach across multiple communities in British Columbia. Street outreach remained a central focus, involving direct contact with people experiencing homelessness, addiction, and personal crisis.

Practical outreach included distributing food, clothing, socks, gloves, winter gear, Bibles, and other survival supplies. Time was also spent meeting people where they were, offering encouragement, prayer, and helping connect individuals with treatment programs, recovery services, and supportive churches.

The ministry also traveled to partner with churches and ministries in other cities. Many congregations graciously opened their doors for ministry presentations and testimony sharing, strengthening relationships that support ongoing outreach efforts.

Vehicle and Mobile Outreach

During 2025 an outreach vehicle was purchased to support the ministry’s mobile outreach work. The vehicle allows the ministry to travel between cities, carry outreach supplies, and maintain a consistent presence in the communities being served.

The vehicle also functions as a mobile base for the ministry. It stores outreach equipment and supplies used for street ministry, including food, clothing, and other practical resources. At times it also allows me to remain on location overnight so that I can respond more quickly to ministry needs, connect with local churches, and continue outreach in the surrounding community.

International Ministry Work

During 2025, the ministry conducted two mission trips to Mexico. These visits included time spent with several drug and alcohol recovery centers where residents in recovery were encouraged through testimony, prayer, and fellowship.

During these visits the ministry also helped provide practical support, including Bibles and food for individuals participating in recovery programs.

Relationships were strengthened with pastors and church leaders serving their communities through addiction recovery outreach. Over the course of these visits the ministry connected with approximately a dozen pastors and ministry leaders, offering encouragement and support for the work taking place within their churches and recovery ministries.

The ministry was also able to contribute support toward several recovery programs in Mexico that are actively helping individuals rebuild their lives after addiction.

These international partnerships remain an important part of supporting long-term recovery work and strengthening connections between ministries serving people battling addiction.

Use of Ministry Resources

Gifts received during the year supported both direct outreach and the practical costs required to sustain full-time ministry work.

Outreach expenses included food distribution, clothing and survival supplies, ministry materials, Bibles, and direct assistance for individuals facing homelessness, addiction, or personal crisis. Transportation and fuel costs supported travel between communities for outreach, ministry partnerships, and speaking opportunities.

Additional expenses included vehicle maintenance related to outreach travel, ministry equipment, digital tools used for teaching and communication, and other operational needs required for mobile outreach.

The ministry seeks to direct the majority of its financial resources toward outreach activities that directly serve individuals in need. At the same time, some resources are necessarily used for the living, travel, and operational costs that make full-time outreach work possible.

Professional Accountability

All financial activity for 2025 was processed through a designated ministry account and maintained using organized bookkeeping practices.

Financial records were submitted to a professional accountant for tax reporting and compliance with Canadian tax requirements.

This transparency report has also been shared with trusted ministry friends and long-standing partners familiar with the structure and operation of this outreach. In addition, a senior pastor in the community with more than thirty years of ministry experience has reviewed this report for accountability and stewardship.

Commitment to Accessible Ministry

Brother John Street Ministry remains committed to providing outreach, encouragement, and practical assistance freely to anyone seeking help. Ministry support, advocacy, and connections to recovery resources are offered without charge.

This reflects the belief that compassion and care should remain accessible to those in need.
