My name is Tim, and Brother John aske me to write a testamony for his website.

In 2021, I was living on the streets, skin and bones, caught in full-time drug addiction. That’s when I met Brother John.

The first time we met, he took me out for breakfast at McDonald’s. He sat me down, shared his own story, and encouraged me to believe that change was possible. Over the course of that year, John never gave up on me. He would stop and talk to me on the streets, share his testimony, and remind me that I had value and a future beyond addiction.

Eventually, my family and friends helped get me into medical detox at the hospital. While I was there, Brother John came to visit me. He told me he would stay with me through my recovery journey, and he kept that promise. After 30 days of being clean, he gave me a brand-new smartphone as a gift. It was such a small thing, but it meant the world to me—it made me feel seen and supported in a way I hadn’t felt in a long time.

John kept visiting me while I was in treatment, encouraging me every step of the way. His consistent presence and words of hope reminded me that I wasn’t alone in this fight.

Now, in 2025, I’m over a year clean and sober. God has worked a miracle in my life, and I am walking down a road of success I never thought possible. I’m also proud to call Brother John my good friend. His ministry has had a huge impact on me, and I am so thankful for the way he showed up for me when I needed it most.

If you or someone you know is struggling with addiction, I can’t recommend his ministry enough. It’s not just about words—it’s about action, love, and a commitment to walking with people on their journey to freedom.
