My friends Ken & Deb

I (Deb) am not honestly sure where I first learned of Brother John's ministry videos. Possibly the algorithms led me to his channel, because we (Ken and I) had been searching for a street ministry that focused on the homeless. We had hoped to find a church group in our area that reached out to the homeless and addressed some of the growing drug addiction crisis.

One of the very first videos we watched was John's adventure in the Sooke Potholes where he describes how he lived for over a year during the Pandemic. Wait? He was a local boy?!! That really got our attention and we started to binge watch his videos. Because we live an hour or so from him we actually started to recognize places he was traveling and working.

From that time on the Lord put it on our hearts to begin to support his ministry. We especially loved how he pointed people to their local food banks for donations, but for us, we wanted someone who was hands on distributing needs and more than that, the gospel.

A year or so in, we decided we would ask John if next time he was in our area could we meet for a coffee? He replied "YES!" and we waited for an opportunity.

That day came a few weeks (maybe months lol) later when he messaged a random text that he was in town and would we like to meet up? From the moment we met it felt like meeting an old friend. Well, he wasn't old, we were haha. The pic I am attaching is that day.

We truly believe God led us to this precious brother. We know that we are blessed to have met Brother John face-to-face and discussed some serious theological issues of our time. He's the real deal and what you see in the videos is what you get in real life.

We would not hesitate to recommend supporting his ministry as we feel strongly God's provision and calling are on it.  

P.S. Sadly, we cannot vouch for Buddy, yet as we haven't formally met. ha!
